| Routing algorithm problem is one of the major issues to be resolved in wireless sensor network research. In this paper we examine some important hierarchical routing protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks. We will first discuss the operations of these protocols in short, and then we will highlight the advantages and drawbacks of each one of them.
