| Known L-R type fuzzy numbers are widely adopted in neuro-fuzzy systems. They are simple to apply but they have a drawback consisting in non-smoothness of their membership functions. This drawback substantially influences the neural-network training using optimization methods. We have investigated smooth class of spline membership functions of L-R type fuzzy numbers. Analysis of application of these functions in hand-printed recognition systems was demonstrated in this paper. | |
