| The process of globalization that is happening all over the world has given rise to international mobility of a skilled workforce with innovative thinking and high knowledge. Understanding the mechanisms behind the mobility of skilled workers is of great importance for the development of science, education and immigration policies. The lack of access to official data stimulates the use of digital trace data obtained from ORCID public records. ORCID profiles contain standardized information education and employment, which allows tracking individuals over time. This study used ORCID data to analyze the mobility of Azerbaijani researchers during 1990-2024. A multivariate nonlinear regression model was proposed for the evaluation of researcher’s migration. The findings of the study may have serious practical implications for the making of migration policies to attract and retain skilled talent. | |
