economy. The efficiency of this sector primarily depends on the
effectiveness of the drilling and construction processes of wells. It is noted
that during drilling, anomalously high formation pressures cause various
accidents and complications. The elimination of these issues requires
significant financial resources and time, which reduces operational
efficiency. In some cases, it is not possible to drill the well to the design
depth (resulting in well abandonment), environmental pollution occurs, and
even human casualties may take place. Several real accident cases are
presented as examples. The importance of timely forecasting of anomalous
high formation pressure zones is substantiated. A brief overview of some
forecasting methods is provided. The advantages of methods that allow
forecasting without halting the drilling process are emphasized. One such
forecasting method is proposed, which is based on calculating the
anomalous pressure using the gradient of mechanical drilling speed and the
current technological parameters of the well. Information is given about the
operating principle and application of the equipment based on this
principle. It is noted that when used in combination with other methods, the
