| The article proposes a strategy of population forecasting using the fuzzy time series model. It proposes a technique based on fuzzy time series for the prediction of the number of population (total population, able-bodied population, economically active population, population of different age groups, deaths and births, etc.). Based on the technique, the predictive values are estimated for the total population in Azerbaijan and the results are compared to those from other forecast models. An alternative forecasting system based on the proposed approach is supposed to be developed, and an intellectual demographic prediction system is developed. Operating principle of the system is presented, its functional scheme is developed, and the working principle of each block is described. Knowledge base of the system is based on production rules and supports prospective decisions on demographic policy by referring to the analysis of the forecast results of various demographic indicators. | |
