| The idea of this paper is to show that the classical information retrieval (IR) precision and recall measures can be used as a similarity measure. We show that an application of the classical IR F-measure as a similarity measure is a viable and effective approach. The choice to treat the F-measure as a similarity measure in the text summarization is experimentally proved to be effective. Experimental results show that the F-measure lead to the best overall results compared to the cosine measure. | |
